I once got cast as an extra on The Wire. Unbeknownst to me, the scene would be pivotal: Detective McNulty was finally going to confront Stringer Bell in his drug-front copy shop. My role was equally pivotal: to walk past a window in the background. To this day, I wonder if it was actually my poor window-walking that caused McNulty to crack.
